The book begins with brief biographies of the honored figures in the Naqshbandi spiritual chain (silsila), starting from the Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (peace be upon him), famous Companions (Sahaba), Tabi‘in, and then prominent saints such as Bayazid Bastami, the Seven Pirs of Bukhara, Bahauddin Naqshband, Khoja Ubaydullah Ahrar, Imam Rabbani, and others. Then, it explains the three main paths in the Naqshbandi order — perseverance in the remembrance of Allah, meditation (murāqabah), and obedience to the spiritual guide (murshid). The treatise further elaborates on the eleven foundational principles of Naqshbandi practice, the benefits and effects of dhikr, the etiquette of the practitioner (zākir), and important topics such as self-examination (muhasaba).
