In the previous two booklets of the series titled "Explanation of the Hadiths that are the Foundation of Islam," the hadiths "Indeed, actions depend upon intentions" and "What is lawful is clear" were explained to the best of our ability. Since these two noble hadiths encompass many aspects of a Muslim's life, discussions involved jurisprudence, spiritual education, and other fields. Various societal issues were also addressed. The topics discussed in this current booklet are close in significance to the previous two hadiths but are limited in scope to the subject of each hadith. For example, the first hadith in this booklet is dedicated to advice, specifically sincerity. Others are similar in nature.

Many great Imams, Muhaddiths, and Mujtahids refer to one of the hadiths, which is briefly called "Religion is sincere advice," as the foundation of Islam. The text of this hadith is as follows:

It is narrated from Tamim Dari (may Allah be pleased with him):

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Religion is sincere advice."

We asked: "For whom?"

He said: "For Allah, His Book, His Messenger, and the leaders and common folk of the Muslims."

This hadith is narrated by Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, and Nasai.
